Robson gives Britain rare singles title (AP)
Britain collected its first Wimbledon singles championship in 24 years Saturday. OK, so it wasn’t the men’s title or the women’s title, but it was a title, nonetheless. Laura Robson, a 14-year-old who was born in Australia but moved to England when she was 6, won the girls’ title at the All England Club.

Federer, Nadal know each other well (AP)
After moving within a victory of his sixth consecutive Wimbledon title, Roger Federer found time to catch only a few games of Rafael Nadal’s semifinal. Serena knows what to expect from Venus (AP)
Not long after losing to her older sister in the Wimbledon final, Serena Williams was already gathering the information she’ll need to beat Venus the next time they face each other. Venus Williams followed up her singles championship victory with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in doubles alongside sister Serena over Lisa Raymond of the United States and Samantha Stosur of Australia. Safin?s game plan no good vs. Federer (AP)
Marat Safin went into the match with a plan for beating Roger Federer, only for the five-time champion to take it apart almost at will. The two-time Grand Slam champion from Russia knew what he needed to do upset Federer and stop his amazing 39-match winning streak at the All England Club, but Federer just [...]

High Five
Venus Williams joins tennis greats Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova with her fifth Wimbledon championship in the Open Era. And she finally beat Serena Williams again in a Slam final. This is the third time in Venus' career that she defended a Slam title. She's now tied with recently "retired" Justine Henin with seven Slams, one shy of Serena, who remains the only active player to have won

House of Williams: Championship Open Thread
Before I could even get this thread up, Serena broke serve to love with a serious crosscourt backhand. This sisters are playing. Let it all hang out, folks.
